Chic East Village crowds spill from the wood-paneled bar into the sexy downstairs lounge and its adjoining bi-level atrium; the glowing dining rooms, where a full menu is served, see less action. Olive-green banquettes and flickering candles add a nice date vibe, though tables are too close together for any serious canoodling. Start with the duck confit with crunchy skin and buttery meat, or the seared scallops, gorgeously caramelized on the outside and napped in a frothy lobster nage. For entrees, the beefy, salty hanger steak with a sweet little spinach flan and a tumble of wild mushrooms is as good as it gets. Other mains include pork loin and salmon with zucchini. Move to the cool downstairs lounge for drinkable desserts like the crushed raspberry-mocha martini
