Many establishments claim to be authentic Irish pubs, but how many hold Irish classes two nights a week, host readings by Irish authors Frank McCourt and Edna O'Brien and boast the city's longest-running quiz night? Just one: Rocky Sullivan's, named after James Cagney's character in "Angels With Dirty Faces." Former Irish Voice editor Patrick Farrelly and Chris Byrne opened the bar back in 1996 with an Irish nationalist bent. Now Brits drink Guinness alongside the regulars, which include a large number of New York's Finest and Bravest.
