With this wide open strolling room, 12-foot-high tin ceilings, exposed brick walls and handmade furnishings, it's hard to believe this place used to be a hardware store. Set in the decreasingly rough-and-tumble Sixth Ward (known a century ago as the Whiskey Ward), this bar attracts a crowd ranging from edgier sorts to cell phone-toting NYU students.
