With its decadent red velvet, glass and mirrors, the bar resembles more of a VIP area of some megaclub in midtown than a stand-alone lounge in the East Village. Local, highly danceable techno and jungle DJs spin on the weekends in the upstairs Leopard Lounge, while young ones drink their stiff cosmopolitans and screwdrivers, mingling at the bar into the wee hours; there is definitely no shortage of lovely (could I guess Russian?) model types hanging around as well. The only time I've ever been to this bar is on Comedy Night. Every Wednesday they host THE COMEDY SOCIAL (www.comedysocial.com) Oh my god, it's the funniest thing I've ever seen! You really should check it out! What's great is it's not like a regular NY comedy club where the comics are dicks and pick on the crowd, these comics are really nice, and funny to beat all hell. Wednesdays, 9pm, $2 THE COMEDY SOCIAL!

Every time I go there, I have a good time...sometimes, however, it gets just toooooooo crowded and you can barely move.
