Aptly named for its basement setup, Down the Hatch rocks with the right tunes, but it could afford to lose the drunken NYU students and the cheesy year-round X-mas lights. Reasonable prices and specials abound, but the mixed drinks are small, and the beer--not all that cold to begin with--is too often served in warm mugs just out of the dishwasher. This place has a great beer and wing special on Sat. afternoon's. Cool place to hang out, drink beer, and eat awesome wings!
