It's nice to know there are still decent bars where one can show up and just BE. Disappear behind the tall walls of a black vinyl booth, tilt back a scotch on the rocks and don't come out till the rent's due. It's that kind of den--soothing in its darkness and the lack of screaming theme. Retro touches of a pressed-tin ceiling and checkerboard floor are as welcoming as the bartender who's tuned the TV to "Happy Days," with "Sanford and Son" up next. (Source: Citysearch.com)
