Owners of the Boston and LA Avalon clubs have slicked up the orphaned former Limelight in hopes of creating New York's next "sexy cool dance venue." The redesign of the former church leans heavily on modern club accoutrements: lots of under-lit bars, backlit walls, and a glowing entryway floor. All of the smaller lounges and bars lead to one final destination: the dance floor. With its soaring ceilings, sizeable stage and gigantic DJ booth--which has its own bathroom and couches--it's easy to see that mega star performers will feel right at home. Design firm d-ash reworked the Avalon side of the club and its separate, but adjoining, uber VIP spot, the Spider Club. (There's plenty of VIP room to go around in Avalon, as well.) megaclub AVALON is certainly one of NYC's nightlife and historical gems. It is an institution by itself, providing plenty of space for people from all walks of life, top djs, spectacular lighting system and a sound system second to none. The staff is one of the most professional ones in the entire tri-state area, strict but friendly, and many, very hot-looking. I have not been in any other club where most of its staff is attractive as in Avalon, especially the sooo hot bartenders! Though Fridays and Saturdays are amazing, I prefer Sundays, Gay night..it is free entrance and open bar and you cannot beat such offer..you must have a JB card to receive these privileges, to apply for one go to: www.jblair.com
