This place is ok for a low key night. Seemed like everyone knew the bartenders so it must be a local spot... Wasn't really my stee but i chilled fer a few. Beat this girl in a game of pool too,.. HINT: Dont always let the girl win.

On DJ nights, the bar sometimes keeps a velvet rope out front, but the scene inside is all-embracing. 169's small, unadorned interior with red vinyl bar stools, a pool table and pizza-parlor booths reserves an open floor beside the bar for dancing. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Besides being a dumpy bar in general they make a habit of mistreating the musicians that play there. Their business practice is despicable and unfair AND they charge $9 for a Schlitz Malt Liquor. Who has ever heard of that??

I've read a lot of negative reviews of this place. I feel obligated to post my opinion since I just played there. I had no expectations going in but I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, I can't think of anything negative to say. The bar has a lot of charm and character. They played a great selection of house music,the sound was excellent, the staff was professional and everybody had a great time. We didn't bring a large crowd and we still made some money. We arrived early for happy hour and they offered 2 for 1 drinks. Excellent beer selection and the place was clean. I look forward to playing there again.
